This trade pro refutes the claim that an extractor fan was faulty, explaining the noise was due to its being "off line" and that their use of a specific tool produced minimal dust. They also deny responsibility for a boiler fan issue, stating they offered a cheaper replacement but the recipient insisted on using their own plumber, who charged significantly more. The sender states they paid €700 for repairs, which they claim is double the cost of a replacement fan and half the price of a boiler replacement. They also mention a separate offer to paint the house exterior for €2500, which they believe was a good value, but the recipient then tried to "bad mouth" them. The sender concludes by stating they no longer wish to deal with the matter due to the damaged trust.
Regarding the pipe incident, the sender clarifies that the pipe they hit was a hot water pipe, not a mains pipe, and the leak was a minimal spray, not a flood. They explain they turned off the water supply and drained the pipe to install a new fitting. The sender also denies responsibility for a swollen kitchen counter, claiming it was already damaged before they arrived, and that a wet towel would not have caused the damage.
RATING:
Julian burst a water pipe, broke the boiler, broke the cooker extractor fan, destroyed the kitchen counter and left holes in the inside and outside walls of the house. He went away, leaving the family of five there, in a freezing cold property, with no heating and cold getting into the property with the holes that were left there. Afterwards he did not apologise. He disputed that a lot of damage was from him, in spite of a lot of evidence to the contrary. In spite of several requests to provide his details (address and passport ID), so that we could go to a court and get a decision on the costs there, the requests were ignored. This means that I was left out-of-pocket by €4400 plus, in addition to much distress being caused by him.
